Beginning September, 2001, Mayor William Neary welcomed Visual Arts League to
exhibit at the Township Municipal building.
On these pages are some
of the shows which followed his invitation.
I remember when my children were
little, my family would stop for ice cream at Bill Neary's
Carvel's on Englishtown Rd. Old Bridge.
I noticed then
what a kind and friendly man he was. A few years ago he
performed the marriage ceremony of a friend of mine..an artist, Chris Cornell
and Daiva.
Then two years latter Bill married my husband and I.
When I visited the E.B. Municipal building to say hello
and see what might be begun to bring some excitement to
welcome walls in East Brunswick,
Bill ran down the hallway
of the municipal building waving his arms.."help me! he
exclaimed loudly, nobody helps me! "
...and so we did, with
enthusiasm.
and the Home News Tribune jumped on
things and so did the local cable TV channel right across from
the municipal building. The shows were something to be proud
of. There was a growing feeling of excitement. We stirred a
sleeping dog....
