Express
Yourself: The Traveling Art Show
Featuring artwork by children and young
adults with chronic and
life-threatening illnesses and their
siblings
What:
ArtWorks is bringing its Traveling Art Show to UMDNJ-
Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, NJ. This show
features a collection of works created by children and young
adults from dozens of healthcare facilities in the Tri-State
area.
Why:
ArtWorks
is dedicated to the establishment and support of creative and
performing art exhibitions, titled Express Yourself, that
feature the works of children and young adults suffering from
chronic and life-threatening illnesses. Siblings, who are also
tremendously affected by their own sibling’s illness, submit
artwork into the show. These exhibits recognize the creative arts
therapies as an integral component of the recovery process.
Who:
Children
who suffer from chronic and life-threatening illnesses, and their
siblings, created the pieces on display in the Traveling Art
Show. These
participants come from more than 20 healthcare agencies in New
York and New Jersey.
