Art Goes Public (AGP) is a program that
matches artists with libraries in the form of an "artist in
residence." Artists have one, or two day residencies at a selected
library, and practice their art as they would in their own
studios. The artists are paid by the libraries. Fees are
adjustable to each libraries abilities to pay.
Spearheaded by the former Artists League of Central New Jersey and then
continued by the Visual Arts League, this is a community collaboration. On these web pages we are
showing a few of the participating libraries and their efforts to welcome art of all kinds into their
libraries. The Art Goes Public program is part of a creative effort already begun by others and here on
these web pages we have a chance to bring it all together and celebrate the uniqueness of each community and its
library.
This web site makes it possible for the libraries to log on, view the selection of New Jersey
artists and contact them, in many cases, directly.
To appreciate the quality and the wide range of artistic expression in this program, you may view the artists at: Artists A-Z
