To relieve the physical and emotional burden of
practicing oncology for over 20 years, Mars Custodio has
turned to gardening, cooking, traveling, theatre and
three years ago, painting.
"I enjoy creating and expressing what is in my head and heart.
I enjoy the discipline of painting deep into the night,
mixing colors, exploring new techniques, correcting mistakes,
signing a new work and finally putting it aside."
Mars has participated in group exhibits in New York and New Jersey.
He continues to study oil and acrylic with Patricia Leithead
of Chatham, New Jersey. He is preparing for his first
solo exhibit in May, 1999.
