George Lassiter's mission is to tap the
viewer's unconscious and provoke the exploration
of both fantasy and myth as it impacts on our
daily lives. Similar to our own existence
which is replete with pain and sorrow,
joy and survival, Dr. Lassiter's art is
multi-layered and complex.
Although Lassiter's talent was originally
a form or relaxation, his improvisation brings
a raw truth with his provocative individualized
style. While the imaginative works often defy
a concrete logic, his combination of exuberant color and exaggerated form inject
a humor and wit that stirs deep contemplation.
Dr. Lassiter practices Internal Medicine and
Gastroenterology in Morristown, NJ.
His paintings can be found in many private
collections throughout the United States.
His work has been exhibited extensively
in the Tri-State area. In 1996, a series
of Family workshops were developed around
his art and lectures. In 1997 his work was
selected for the cover of a CD release:
Hip Pocket-Tongo.
