These graffiti murals are no longer there.

 

 ...here is a glimpse of one evening spent in a computer lab on a steep cobblestone street in Tepoztlan, Morelos, Mexico. Walking uphill from my Mexican family's home I would pass these murals on the way to the computer lab, San Salvador. Randy, the young man pictured in the previous photo, sits in a little area behind a glass case filled with odds & ends related to studies...pens, CDs, pads of paper.

On the wall behind him hangs his guitar.

One night I was quietly working, eyes glued to the monitor and the dulcet tunes of guitar music and quiet singing filled the space. Around me at the other computers were others, equally glued to their monitors! Children with headsets, young men and women, their babies on their laps.

A quiet, happy hum.
